Words Spoken.

My birthday was yesterday. It was a great day filled with joy, laughter, dancing, and lots of yummy food. I last-minute decided to have a birthday party, to invite people into my home, and share this day that has often been spent unnoticed. I'm glad I did.

An activity a friend led the party crew in was for everyone to go around the room and share things they appreciate about me. Compliments are hard to accept, so I wiggled a lot in my chair. I am sharing the words I remember below, as a way to remind myself of what others see in me.

you've grown in integrity and courage.
brave.
you make me go 'up!'
your smile lights up the room
I love you!
the definition of a friend
you don't expect more from me than what I am
I don't remember a time hanging out with you that wasn't fun
positive
 honest
vulnerable
transparent
challenging
authentic listener

These are the words I want to hold onto. Thank you, dear friends, for the gift of your words.
