I recovered a piece of my soul today. The part of me that makes art. I generally freeze up when making art, but today, I came home and just decided to go for it.
Sketching hands, doodling flowers, using quotes and music to guide my strokes... it feels pretty damn good. Realizing that the beginning of creating is simply to create. It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be mine. The skill, the familiarity, it comes with time. For now, the bravery to try is enough.
May you find the courage to try something risky this week. Create something beautiful. Let me know if you do, creating is more fun when done in community.
